With your new IBM ThinkPad T21 Laptop, you will receive the following components:

The IBM ThinkPad Laptop has the following features:
v Pentium III 850MHz
v 14.1” SXGA Display
v 256MB RAM
v 20GB Hard Drive
v DVD/CD-ROM
v Built in LAN Connection
v Built in Modem Connection
The Floppy drive, DVD-ROM, and Super Disk drives can be inserted into the bay on the laptop (see instructions later in this document).
With the new laptop, you received two Lithium-Ion batteries. This battery takes 2 ˝ hours to charge fully (if the laptop is turned off) and 3 hours to charge (if the laptop is turned on). The battery lasts for approximately four hours. \
Please make sure that the
laptop is not on while removing or installing the battery
1. Ensure that laptop is turned off.
2. Flip laptop over
3. Slide latch away from battery (location shown in Figure 1), as shown in figure 2.

4. Grasp battery by the side. See close up, figure 3.

5. Lift battery upward, as shown in figure 4.

4. Place battery in compartment. See figure 6.

5. Slide latch (location shown in figure 1 circle area) back toward the battery, as shown in figure 7.

6. Release latch.

Flip switch to right
(if looking at side of laptop). See

Gently pull on
handle. See figures 9 and 10.
3.
Gently pull drive
toward you to remove. See figure 11.
4.
Slide new drive into
bay until drive front is flush with case. See figure 8.
5.
Push handle back into
place. See figure 9.

1. Plug AC adapter power cable into an electrical
outlet.
2. Plug the AC adapter Cable into the AC adapter
connector (Shown circle Figure 15 below) on the back of the laptop.
3. Open the computer display.
4. Press the Power Button, above keyboard in the middle,
to turn on computer.
